alittlebitofpcos:

I shared this on the PCOS Awareness post, but I wanted to post it separately as well because it can be very helpful for those who cannot afford insurance and those who would like to see a doctor for medical reasons and such. When we hit it hard, we were not eligible for state medical coverage, however we were introduced to a local clinic that offered medical services to those in the area without insurance, free of cost, and medications cost up to ten dollars the most (this was the particular clinic in my area). I was not aware until that time, and I am sure there are some who don’t know as well, so it’s important to spread the word.

Free and low cost clinics are community-based organizations that provide comprehensive primary and preventive care, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, mental health, and other health-related services to uninsured or underinsured low-income residents. Depending on the clinic, fees may vary from free to low cost using a sliding fee scale based on income, regardless of age and ability to pay. Source: http://www.needymeds.org/free_clinics.taf
