The ingredients used for the witch’s brew in Shakespeare’s Macbeth were likely just traditional herbs going by other names, intended to intimidate the masses. For example,

Eye of Newt:  Mustard Seed                                                                
Toe of Frog:  Buttercup
Wool of Bat:  Holly Leaves
Tongue of Dog:  Houndstongue
Adders Fork:  Adders tongue
Lizard Leg:  Ivy

A Hawk’s Heart: Wormwood
Ass’s Foot or Bull’s Foot:  Coltsfoot
Bear’s Foot: Lady’s Mantle
Calf’s Snout: Snapdragon
Graveyard Dust: Mullein
Sparrow’s Tongue: Knotweed

I’ve been so busy with finals you guys, sorry. 

We had to do an animated gif of a mythical creature for Allan’s class. Lots of trail and error, but I think I got the hang of it and it’s something to do more of in the future 🙂
