ulfhedinn-maiden-deactivated201:

The Ulfhednar (plural for Ulfhedinn) were Viking warriors sworn to Odin who were much like the Berserker. Where a Berserker warrior would take on the strength and characteristics of the bear, the Ulfhedinn warrior would take on the strength, shape, and in some accounts, the form of a wolf. Ulfhednar donned wolf pelts and were some of the most ferocious warriors of the Viking age, and are one of the biggest sources of the beginnings of lycanthrope myth and lore.

DRYAD

[noun]

1. tree nymphs in Greek mythology. In Greek, drys signifies “oak”, from an Indo-European root *derew(o)- “tree” or “wood”, thus dryads are specifically the nymphs of oak trees though the term has come to be used for all tree nymphs in general.

2. a deity or nymph of the woods.
